PESTICIDES

 ECOSYSTEM DISRUPTERS

03/06/2020

We eat to live.. Do we ? We live to eat. Exactly. We crave to devour the tastiest of dishes from finest of restaurants to the  most rustic and authentic food from the roots of its origin.

The fresh produce from land not only serves our plate but also occupies a crucial space in the ECOLOGICAL PYRAMID. This forms the base of the pyramid letting all lives to depend on it. Knowing all this, are we smart enough to make optimal use of it ? Are we selfless enough to share it with the rest of the lives too so we develop a harmonious relationship among them? No !!! We kill them, so we get to have a BIGGER BITE.

While trying to kill the pest using stronger, more toxic chemicals so as to have more produce from land we intentionally affect other lives too. We cause damage to other

insects, birds and small animals which affect the crops positively and is essential to maintain the balance of the system.

The farmer that grows crops enjoys benefits only as long as the balance is kept. As soon as this topples, the livelihood of farmers become questionable. He loses the fertility of his land and so his ability to meet his basic needs too. It is not enough just to boast AGRICULTURE is the BACKBONE of our country and everything bases on it if we do not take steps to wipe off the tears welled in each and every farmer in distress due to hunger and no means to survive.

These pesticides are TOXIC not only to few pests but to the entire ecosystem and the LIVES based on it. And the corporations feeding on the ignorance of farmers are no less evil who have the audacity to disrupt generations of lives for their greed.

I do not know how to make the situation better. I do not know how to get the message to each and every legendary farmer who brings us food to our plates; who gets dirty so we enjoy our  meals and Instagram it too.
