The silver line

What do you do when your dark thoughts take the better of you? How do you curb it from whelming you out of the brim ? Well, I find handling it hard too. I take my time to realise its just one bad day, one bad event. I define my own pace to deal with it. Few times, I speculate instances way too much and other times I freeze at the same instant letting my thought waves loop around the same event over and over again. Sometimes, I think why am I the only one to face these and soon enough I realise the genericity of the happening, both the frequency and also the bandwidth. Yes, I am not the only one who is forced into these and these don’t occur rarely. The process is common. You might face it. Your friends who are carrying wide smiles on their faces might encounter it too. Every one goes through it, with each one having his or her own way of settling their agitated thought waves. Life doesn’t present you with a 100 percent happiness. It moves you to a go down of darkness that you are scared as hell to peek your toe into. The calmer you walk through this tunnel of unravelled obscureness the easier it gets for you to pass through this phase. This tunnel , however, repeats itself and comes down your way few to many times. How do you get through it ? How do I get through it?

I would suggest you to use the knowledge you gained while crossing the former tunnel of darkness and apply the same here with a bit more effectiveness. But what is the learning that you need to retain? One, you need to find out what triggers you. It might be words, places, fragrances or anything. Try to stay away from the same for a while. Dot down what makes you sad and what brings you happiness. Focus on the joy giving acts. What about the thoughts that bring a hurricane of stress? Underline what causes the stress. Analyse the probability of the stress causing factor to happen in reality. What’s the worst that could happen. Even if the worst occurs , think and figure whether it would matter to you in 5 years time. Mostly it does not. Thinking these over, you would understand how light a weightage it has overall and why it isn’t necessary for you to ponder over it repetitively. Now with the understanding, the crossing wouldn’t seem so difficult as the first time. The process gets easier each time with the learning that you carry after moving down each phase of gloominess. Over time, the thoughts that scare the life out of you wouldn’t seem as frightening as it was earlier after all. Yes, You will find your silver lining too.
